The first written history of the sauna was found in Finland in the year 1112 AD, and has been a way of life for the Finnish people ever since. Modern saunas offer the same ancient therapeutic benefit of heating the body to increase blood flow and release toxins. The combination of body perspiration, rest and rapid cooling stimulates circulation, reduces muscular and nervous tension, and promotes restful, sound sleep.
