CELLULITE REDUCTION almost 90% of post-adolescent women (and very few men), and appears even on women who are very thin. Dieting and exercise alone will not significantly reduce the appearance of cellulite – specific body treatments are required to reduce the dimpled appearance of the skin that is the hallmark of this condition. underneath the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin, in the subcutaneous fat layers. This layer of fat is unique in its structure compared to the other layers because its fatty parts are structured into specific chambers by strands of linked tissue around it. With age there is a loss in the thickness and tone of the connective tissue in the superficial fat layer and the dermis. Combined with hormonal changes, dietary habits, accumulated toxins and age, that network of connective tissue becomes lax, and areas of fat start to protrude through the network of tissue, resulting in the dimples and bumpy look to the skin, particularly in the thighs, buttocks and stomach area. The subcutaneous fat layer in a woman is organized into large upright chambers allowing fat to be stored within this network of connective tissue, called the “septa.” In men, the septa is organized into small slanting units. These store smaller fat quantities and are not likely to form cellulite. The “septa” attaches the skin to the fat cells, and when it is out of shape due to genetic, age and lifestyle factors, it starts to bend sideways, causing the dimple effect. by mechanical means - using massage, rolling and manipulation of the tissues with equipment specific to the treatment. The rolling and sucking actions of the machine work together to 'stretch' the septa back to an upright position. The action of the machine also promotes elimination of toxins which are present in the affected area, and helps to restore its original smooth appearance. |
